Is it just me?

I've been on the road 3 years since 'graduation' - the first year I did a bunch of shows-last year less-and this year 3-4. I quickly got tired of paying entrance fees for the same questions and comments-guarding the car from the occasional thoughtless and ignorant public-and I was usually parked with my cobra buddies that think shows are the greatest-to them the adventure in owning these babies is driving to and from a show and trying for that plastic trophy, they never built theirs. next year I'll attend only the few free cruise-ins and Historic's-I always thought it was the cobra guys that just write a check-have no personal investment (like building the car) that attended car shows but it sounds like from reading these posts that I may be wrong. (I expect the street rodder crowd to be at shows since many are show cars that are undrive-able for any distance) now I mostly pair up with my buddy in his spec racer and we put on 200-300 mile day cruises and are starting to talk about trips next year. that's why I built my car-to experience the drive-everyone else can spend their day sitting in a parking lot and paying 15-20.00 for the 'excitement' of owning a cobra-to each his own right?

I guess if the shows are so painful and annoying, what with all the silly spectators it would be better to just stay away and save the money.
