Hagerty Insurance which has its headquarters here in Traverse City, Mi currently has a Shelby tribute in its showroom. The item that I thought might be of interest is this survivor, I hope you can read the picture of the plaque. I tried to get some detail pictures for those of you who especially like the slabside model. My photographic skills are not great but maybe they will help someone with detail. One detail I found especially interesting was how the mirror was mounted to the windshield post.

I love the picture of the driver's door forward upper alignment with the cockpit - it looks terrible compared to what most people are doing with their FFRs.

Oh by the way, thanks for the great pictures.

Sorry, John - my post was poorly worded. I was trying to point out how the area where the driver's door forward top edge aligns with the cockpit looks awkward (even though obviously it's original so it must be right!) compared with how people doing bodywork in fiberglass address that same area.
John, that car looks confusingly similar to your car! I think you should sue!

Little white button on far left of upper dash where the door top rolls around.... What is that?

That is the horn button on this particular car, while original to the car when Collin purchased it, it is not the original horn button installed when new.

Great pictures, although I find it somewhat ironic that Hagerty has a Cobra in the showroom when I was informed ealier this year they would no longer insure mine as the Company has decided not to insure them in the future.

Anyone see the paint/fiberglas checkering on the rear lid? Didn't they use laquer back then???
GREAT PICS!

The paint has checkered and peeled in a number of places, basically it is in the same shape as the carpet, patina they call it. The paint is old but original to the car and it will stay that way. As for the remark about Hagerty, I am sure that they would insure this car and the original GT500 in the background but their primary risk on these vehicles is probably not from being driven; they are in the business of insuring older stuff if you get my meaning. I am not defending them but I understand their stance.

Thanks for posting the many detail photos of this original. The control knobs on the dash look strikingly similar to those in a 1960 Ford that I owned while in college (yes, a looong time ago!)
