I just got done swapping calipers on my front brakes and I also swapped over my speed bleeders. While bleeding out the system, one of the bleeders is has a slight leak around the threads. The original thread sealant that is on these bleeders is gone.
I can get a bottle of the sealant online for 15 bucks shipped, not a problem.
What I would like to know, is there a sealant from Permatex or Loc-Tite that will also do the job that I can pick up at Autozone tommorrow?
Thanks for any help

Ron, is that 242 or 243? You mentioned one but linked the other. Thanks
The text should have read 243, sorry.

Actually I did notice that, 242 is the Blue loctite and 243 is the Red. Both are brake fluid resistant, so I will go with the blue since I only need it for sealing, not strength.

I'm pretty sure you will find that the appropriate thread sealer is a gummy compound designed to stop brake fluid leaking by the threads when the bleeder is screwed out 1 turn. The Loctite products have been around for a very long time and do an excellent job of LOCKING threads, with various breakout strengths depending on grade. If you intend to back the bleeder screw out to bleed the brakes, I don't think you want Loctite.
