After a couple of mishaps in my newly tagged MKIV - I am adding to my list.
Besides the basic tools, Flashlight, minature self contained battery jumper/air compressor, fix a flat, etc. I have added a scissor jack 3 1/2 inch low height (autozone) - that was added after I near lost the left front wheel on the highway ( I love the FFR knock off wheels the lug nut cover kept all 5 nuts in the cover) - a state policeman stopped and had a scissor jack in his trunk - we fixed it and was on the way. The average jack AAA might carry won't fit under your car. I swapped out the 4 sided lug wrench for a 1/2 inch breaker bar and 3/4 socket - the 4 handle took up too much room!
Last weekend I was at the Ocean City MD hotrod show - 132 miles from home and snapped a throttle cable. Fixed with a small fitting from Ace hardware and safety wire.
So this week I am adding a spare cable, safety wire, spare lug nuts....and still thinking of other items.

And if all else fails - I also received my AAA card in the mail Saturday!
it was my old friend Vitocan't seem to get rid of the dead fish smell

Spent some time on the track at willow springs one day. Driving home, no interior or guage lights - blown fuse. Also, one Thursday night at Irwindale drags, made a quick friend with someone who needed a 20Amp fuse.
I try to consentrate on parts that maybe hard to get and most likly to fail, a alt. belt, thick film module and a clutch cable. Also a few simple tools. I plan to add some fix a flat next. I'm curious as to other's experiences with diffrent brands of fix a flat.

Have a bag with a compressor and tire plugs, various sockets, pliers, adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers, allen wrenches, some wire, connectors and crimp tool, fuses, cheapo multi-meter, and a flashlight. Probably left something out. Never leave without my cell phone and AAA card.
