Thumbs up New idea?

Hi Guys,
The other day I figured how to install a cable clutch for the old Top Loader bellhousing steel fork. What this does is use stock driveline out of any old 289, 302, 351, 390, 427, 428, 429 stock bellhousing & my modified stock fork & my bracketry.
This will work with a Forte's firewall cable adjuster & quadrant.
Who would want something like this?

Forte's is 1 of 8 US Elite distributors for Tremec. I have T-5's, TKO-500, TKO-600 & T-56 Magnums with all possible options to build your car.

Thanks for your thoughts, comments & support.

I am not a fan of hydraulic clutches, so if I were building again this would be great for the 427 cammer/FFR the next time Bob

Hi Leo,
Do you think I should make this conversion as a bolt on? Will it sell in your mind (would anyone buy it?

I bought the parts from Maier Racing to do exactly that, install cable clutch in my '66 Mustang with top loader. It was about converting from a rocker fork to end pivot fork, if I remember correctly, because you changed from push Z bar to pull cable. That meant installing the new pivot, or using the correct bell housing.

That was going to allow using the "new" diaphragm clutches, rather than Long.

I had a buncha crazy ideas back then, like using an Offy Dual Port 360 manifold with spreadbore carb, and finding a two speed axle. Doug Nash was out there, too, with a $1,100 tranny.

We had the third kid, the car was sideswiped, I sold it the next few months. Life goes on.

Hi tirod,
This uses a drivers side pivot and modified stock fork with a Mustang clutch cable.
