She is beautiful John. Thanks for not giving up!
7 out of 10 of us would sell our cars today to get a chance at building one like that.

I hope Factory Five notices the response to that car. My opinion is they could sell more of the slabside kits than the 33's. I for one would buy one

Wow guys thanks for all the good words. Want to answer a few questions that were asked.
Avalanche,
The piping is done by taking a piece of vinyl approx. 4" wide by whatever length you determine to surround the door. I went to an upholstery shop and had him sew the vinyl folded in half over piping. Cover the door face with vinyl and wrap over the sides similar to doing the dash. I used 1/2" plywood which is actually 3/8". I cut one side of the folded piping vinyl to 3/8" and fastened that to the door edge with contact cement and staples. Then fold over the other 2" piece over the edge and fasten to hide the staples. I made a back piece of aluminum covered with vinyl to cover the back. I hope this makes sense.
The knob I found on e-bay. It is just the knob. Cobra Restorers has them but rather expensive.

I have a couple glove box questions.
1. Do you have any details on how the piping was done?
2. Where did you get the knob?

How much trouble was it to locate and run those rear exit pipes all the way to the back for that early Cobra look to match the 'slab sides'?

Art this is Mr. Bruce body and not a FF.
As far as the exhaust there was no problem. I have a straight axle car.

Hey Kenny,
Check his tag line, its FFR1293 which makes it a MK-1 chassis. This chassis has seen a Tristates body and now the Mr Bruce slabside body. Both iterations were spot on for attention to detail. Simply stunning in all areas.

My aplogies and congradulations to Mr. Bruce - I thought it was a FFR body that had been reworked but it's a one off from his own mold! With a proven mold to produce slab side bodies and the same level of body work yours got I see some of these guys who are interested showing up on his door step - if he's interested.... I know there have been chassis changes but I don't think the body has changed much throughout the MK versions for mounting to the chassis purposes, if that's the case it shouldn't take much to adapt this beautiful 'slab side' body to any MK version for mounting to the chassis.
Art, read above my post about how this started. There was a lot of work but primarely because mine is an early car # 1293.

John did the original slabside ever have a luggage rack and if so will you be installing the one you had on your street beast?
It's hard to tell that that's not a slabside form the 60s especially in those black and white photos
Yes they did have a luggage rack option, and I've been fortunate enough to acquire an original rack that was made by a company named AMCO. These are true hens teeth. I just installed it yesterday. Here are a few pics.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better you pull a rabbit out the hat!!!
That is down right gorgeous!!!!! Love the reflection off the body lines in that middle photo
I'm sorry that I missed you request earlier. The motor is a '65 289, rebuilt to hi-po specs. I used the Comp-cams Nostalgia series, solid lifter cam with their lifters, spings and pushrods, I was going to use the stock intake and an original 4100 carb. But alas, I found an original Cobra 2x4 intake. I'm running two Edelbrock 500cfm AVS carbs with progressive linkage. It runs great. As they say "I'm lovin it"
Thanks,
John O

No problem, thanks for the follow up and details. I did some research on the hi-po after seeing your post. Pretty cool. Love the dual quad look!

Hit the clutch, hit the gear, hit the gas & I'm gone.
Nothing to post about, so I thought I'd bring this back to the top.
