Exhaust Sidepipe swap (Tristate to FFR)

I originally built my MK II (351w) with Tristates (Kooks) Sidepipes back in '02.

I dented/scraped/bent the (Drivers side) sidepipe and I'm contemplating buying the current 351w Header w/ sidepipes from FFR.

Anyone do the Swap or have any recommendations on alignment & type Hangers to use?

Thanks
Capt Al

I did the swap a few years back on mine. Pretty straight forward, except that I used the Gas-N side pipes instead of the FFR pipes. I did have to use a few shims to move the pipes outward more from the body, but that's easy to do. Nothing to it.

Al,
If it was me I'd keep what you've got and fix the problem areas. You've already done the fitment drill so taking them down and putting them back up is a snap. That won't be the case switching to the FFR stuff. Especially considering the current problems people are having with mis-alignment. They're much worse than the Kook's ever were to fit. Plus, the Kook's are a better design with better collectors.
I just replaced the mufflers on my Tri-States/Kooks (hated the augers) and it was super easy.

I am looking to replace my FFR pipes for something quieter and better quality. I haven't seen anything about these side pipes you are talking about.

They won't work with the FFR headers plus they're not made anymore. What else do you want to know?
