anyone had trouble with front nose aluminum panels on MK II?

Been at this for a long time as you can tell but the build is winding down. Looks like I WILL be able to enjoy driving this before rigimortice sets in. Anyway...for those of you with a MK II, did you have trouble with any of the three front nose panels that support the mustang radiator (fitting correctly)? I had to remake the passenger side ( not bent correctly and the bottom sill (not long enough) pieces. Just wondering. Thanx Don

Ours didn't fit perfectly and required some trimming. Nothing too bad and was easy to do with some snips.

I've stared at mine (Mark II) multiple times thinking, "this isn't gonna be pretty."

It is surely not a "slip in and rivet home" proposition.

New goal: 2012 now...FFR Open House, coast to coast, gel coat or paint, doesn't matter. Three thousand miles and change. Wife with me? Buddy with me? Solo? Dunno. Just gotta do it! Starting to plan... Need to tidy up wiring, finish e-brake relocation, reinstall roll bars, other do-dads...

It has been a while but I recall that I had to trim both side panels a little. I figured it was because I installed a lower radiator support & didn't use the lower panel to support the radiator.

Yup, I had to make new side pieces. The bent part that was supposed to fill the gap between the sides and radiator were too short. The front piece fit with some trimming.

Use a piece of cardboard for a pattern. Lot easier to scissor cardboard than snipping al.Then transfer the pattern and cut hopefully the aluminum once.
Do the same especially when installing the wheel well dog ears.

I've held them up a few times and scratched my head. Decided to make my own rounded shroud and forget them altogether.
