I am an addict...

I really like my FFR Roadster, but over the last week I truly experienced the effects. I went to make a simple repair, well not so simple. Dropped the tranny to fix the speedo gear and found damage. I was going to leave it disassembled until I got the new transmission but I was having withdrawals. I lasted a week before I felt compelled to reassemble the tranny and put it back in. Drove it 100 miles today!

So what if 5th has some broken teeth.

Hey Tom,
You are an addict!!! Looks like the speedometer drive gear clip may have gotten tangled up with 5th gear. It will probably last a long time like that if you take it easy. If you got all the broken pieces out you should be good. Nice car and photo.

Thanks, got it bad! Pretty sure the shop never put the clip on. My guess is he dropped it in the main gear box (where I found it) and said, "Oh well." The other gear of 5th doesn't even have a scratch on it. Unless someone tells me this kind of damage is consistent with normal tranny self destruction, I lean more toward a hammer strike broke these teeth.

Hey Pete, seen your posts for a while, noticing you're local, can you post a link for some pics of your car?

They are only 400x600, some reason ffcars server shows the full size pics. Happened to me before and it takes like a day for the smaller size to show up. Sorry, get a bigger monitor till tomorrow. Just messin'.

Yeah, the 6 weeks my car was getting painted was torture. It helped that it was in Nov/Dec but there were a couple of really nice days in there that killed me!
