Oooooh! That link really helped. Now I have a better understanding of not only the procedure but kind of what is going on. When thinking back on some of the questions I've asked Mike over the last two days, I have to wonder why he didn't think I was insane. I kinda get it now. Thanks!
i got the tester today and did cylinder 1. I basically hooked up the hose and hand cranked the engine while i put my finger over the hose and it built up pressure. When it stopped building pressure, i backed it up a notch. I hooked up the tester and i got 4% leakage on a cold engine. I believe this is good? I have not done the rest because i did not have the time. I just wanted to see where i was at with one.

The problem with a warm engine is its a bitch to get in there. With the headers and header locks, i would have burns everywhere.
I figure if there is a problem it will show cold or hot. I am going to keep going on it and will report results.
Anyone see a problem with the method of putting your finger over the hose and stoping when compression stops?

Many of us with the Spec Racers fight this same issue, after 30 min of constant 5-6K on engine (5.0 l) we have oil coming up the dip stick tube, we have done the leak downs test and no issues show up. We all run PCV and either 1 or 2 valve cover vents into catch cans, we can also vent the dip stick into a catch can and empty our catch cans after each race and get 6+ oz out of these.
