I asked what made the Alloy transmission "super" and got not response so I had to research. I found some info about it and it sounds like a viable improvement over the factory T5WC. However, I also found a few people who have broken third gear in it.
I've got my finger on the trigger for Levy's T5 but can someone tell me it is worth the getting bolt-in replacement ability over getting a TKO? Also, is the input spline still 10?
My plan in the near future is 450 FWHP and Auto X and road course. No drag racing, light roadster. I'm thinking I'll be fine but...been burned already on transmission stuff.
Got to decide soon, current tranny is broken, a $900 botched repair from Valley Transmission in El Cajon. That's another story.

If you didn't build it, you can't brag about it. Just sayin'.
It is a very strong trans and I have them in many 600+hp cars. The input is 26 spline so you and means you would need to change clutch disc. Dimensionally it is the same is a standard T5 and shifts wonderfully.

I had one for years. It worked well. Shifts really nice like a stock T5. Much smoother than the truck TKO trans.
I broke 3rd or 4th, cant remember. It was from me not rev matching properly on downshifts with sticky race tires. This would not be a problem on the street

I have a "Astro T-5" behind my 347. I also drag race some & shift pretty hard sometimes?(lol) Seems to hold up just fine in my MKI. 400ish fwhp.

beat the piss out of mine in a 3000 lb fox body with 561 hp on tap. Have cut 1.4 60' times on slicks. Have yet to break anything yet. About the only thing I haven't done is powershift it. Especially into 3rd gear.
i had a levy t5 in my 408 with alot of track time and some very fast drivers driving it and it never failed. yes i would recommend that trans for any motor.....mike

2 other reasons to use the levy t5: weight and several options on gear ratios. i'm running the close ratio box and have 380rhwp and everything works beautiful
