Well, I've managed to find time enough to rack up a little more than 500 really exciting miles in gel coat. As predicted, my trans is just starting to shift a little smoother now. I'm running a 3:31 Moser rear end from a FR 347 motor, so torque is a modest 400 ft-lb.
I've started to get more aggressive about up-shifts, but I'm still double-clutching on down shifts. [Old school habit] After a few aggressive (non-double-clutched) downshifts, I'm getting tempted to think that this trans is just so tough that I don't need to baby it.
I'v been beating the stuffings out of my TKO for years, with a lot more power than you're making. Still shifts smooth and easy. It can take a lot of abuse. Treat it nce, shift it hard, and don't worry about it.

Yeah, Bob keeps breaking motors, not trannys

Have bled a lot since she arrived....and currently hemorrhaging....but the friends I am meeting along the way sure make up for it.
Hi,
I know many a powershifted TKO that works fine. I would recommend lifting the throttle between shifts. If you are real good at shifting, the difference in time is well worth the extended life of any transmission. My thoughts from experince is powershifting = sooner rebuilding...
But what do I know? I just fix them and mostly from abuse..

IMO the middle pedal is for slowing down, not the drivetrain. Brake, match revs with a nice heel/toe, downshift, accelerate. Smooth is fast.
