EFI harness ground connection

Guys, do you know why it's important to connect ground wire first when installing EFI harness?
this is from installation instructions:
Remove the last bolt holding the lower intake down on the passenger side. Install #13 (should be #9 according to the picture) engine ground and torque the bolt back down to specifications. This
is extremely important and should be the first connections made!

my guess is they're emphasising it because it's probably the most important connection in the harness, and because of it's location, easy to overlook. I don't see any reason why it would HAVE to be the first thing you connect.

The first thing that came to mind was working on your home computer. Ground yourself to the chassis before removing boards to avoid static electricity that might cause a problem.

You ground the harness first before plugging it into the computer. Makes sense to me.

Easy

This is so you dont forget. Pretty frustrating when after long months the car wont run and you cant remember or trace what you did not do. The computer itself is very robust. It will survive anything short of a bath in water or a bullet strike.

Based on what you guys saying, I don't have to unplug 60pin connector from ECU, every time I disconnect ground from the battery, connect battery and only then connect 60pin connector back to the ECU.
Thank you,

That wire could wiggle around and graze the engine while you're moving other wires to connect them, so it's probably a precaution to prevent it from shorting the computer if you have it plugged in.

Thank you,
Agreed - no need to do that. However I do remove the 60 pin connector when I need to weld on the chassis.
