I buy some stuff from onlinemetals.com and McMaster-Carr, but the shipping will kill you on larger pieces. Look for local metal suppliers (usually listed under steel sales, steel sheet, bar, rod - that sort of thing) in your local yellow pages, yp.com, etc. Some of these types of places won't sell to a retail customer, but most will. Make sure you're very specific about what you want because it's likely they won't stock it and will have to order it. In my experience, most of these places have basic bar, rod and plate shapes on hand but not a lot of sheet.
I bought a 4' x 8' sheet of .040" 6061 T6 locally and made several replacement/different panels for my Mk3 from it. This is the same material FFR uses for the panels that ship with the kit.
Hope that helps...

STILL building but getting close. MkIII FFR5156: Levy 5 link, Konis & Wilwood 6/4s, aluminum 482" FE w/ TWM stacks, Electromotive ECU & distributorless ignition, Levy super alloy T5, 8.8" rear, Race Logic traction control, ISIS wiring. www.robscobra.com
Look in your "yellow pages" for sheetmetal fabricators.
There are usually businesses that fab metal boxes, duct work for A/C, stove range hoods and other speciality stuff so you can drive and pick it up, cut etc.

Looks like these guys are pretty cllose to you in some place called Maple Heights, OH. there are probably others maybe closer. Google "Aluminum Retail Cleveland, OH" and there are others. You need to find metal dealers that will sell in small quantities that don't have big minimums. Some of the big metal outfits only want to deal in big loads to manufacturers.
Since sheets are bulky and expensive to ship, it's better to buy locally if you can. Pick it up at the distributor. You are looking for .040 thick, 6061 to match the FFR panels. Ask if they have a scrap bin or small remnants that you can buy by the pound. Some of that laying around comes in handy for making brackets, etc. 1X1X1/18 inch aluminum angle makes a good stiffener for flat panels like the dash panel.

x3 on Aircraft Spruce. They were the best price when I looked around the web about 4-5 months ago. I ordered 2'x4' sheets and they arrived very nicely packaged and in perfect condition w/ clear plastic wrap on both sides. To match what FFR uses you want 6061-T6 aluminum in .040 inches thickness.

Wow, Rich and the other Aircraft Spruce folks have got it right. I looked at Online metals and a half sheet (48x48 inch) of 6061-.040 was a little less than half as much at Aircraft Spruce as Online Metals. Online has their warehouse in Seattle and I can't pick it up there for less than I can have it shipped in. Thanks for reminding me to shop around.

Ok I found some aluminium just up the street from work, but they wanted $40 for a 24" x x 48" piece of .040" 6061. I ordered it from aircraft spruce for $19.75 and $12 shipping. Thanks again guys
