What Have You Been Offered in Trade for the Roadster?
Twice in one day for me today. First offer was a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback with a full tank of gas. Second was a nice year-old Harley plus his wife. Yes, she was good looking and no, I dont have any pics...
Let's try and keep this thread from being moved to the Clubhouse!

Not my roadster, but I bought my wife a '67 Camaro a couple of years ago (big block, convertible & 4 spd). We were at a car show and she wasn't around - I mentioned to a guy that "I got it for my wife last year" and he said... "good trade."

Some older guy 70-75 yrs. old walked up to me while I was showing my car at the Dallas Autorama. He claimed that he had $75,000 worth of land that he wanted to trade me for the car. We talked for almost an hour. I probably should have followed up, but I never called him back after the show.
When I made my first offer on an ERA I offered up a plot of land that was worth about 50k. It wasn't accepted though and I didn't expect it to be accepted either.

About two months ago, I had a neighbor offer me $20,000.00 for my unfinished MK3. He is wanting one and told me that after looking on the FFR site he thought I might want to sell mine since it’s taking me so long to get it done……. It’s still in my shop. With all the extras and the engine, it will take more than that.
He finely admitted that to get what he wanted would cost him around 50K and he didn’t think he could do that kind of work. I don’t think he could either, so I introduced him to the “Classifieds” on the site here under Cars for sail……. So far, he hasn’t added anything to his driveway……
2006 harley screaming eagle.
Then almost did a deal for 2007 lowrider and $10k. Glad that didn't work out either.

A contractor saw my car and followed me home and offered me 40K in backyard deck and landscaping. I didn't take the offer and did the backyard myself. On a second occasion I had a black Aston Martin follow my wife and I for 25km or so. We finally got to a light and he pulled up beside us, put his window down and said "Nice car want to trade" but I don't think he was serious....lol. Scott

Sorry about that, I had about three things going at once then and was a little off camber with the spelling as it were…. It happens.
“Cobra Replicas For Sale / Wanted” I hope that helps…….

In 2008 I was offered a 2006 Elise. Gave it some thought but had only had the FFR on the road about 3 months at the time so was still pretty enamored with the new experience. A similar offer today would see the roadster go to a new home and put a Lotus in my garage. I'd run it for a while before selling it and ordering a Mk4 or Coupe.
offer from a Rap Video producer in Los Angeles to have my car in a video. could not pay me money, but it would be insured for damage, and my car would be on TV.
i did not trust diamond-studded booty-shaking near my car so i said no.
OK, having 'ol 1437 for almost 11yrs. some of the things I was offered for her.
A stock broker offered $10,000 more than I paid for her. Had A Dr. drive 200mi with $10,000 offer more than I paid for her. Had offers of wives, kids, grandmothers, dads, sons, uncles & other family members!(lol) Had offers to trade for vetts, mustangs, camaros, ski boats, motors, army tank, ect. Just about anything you can think of and than some!! And than there are things I can't mention here.
