I upgraded to a 3/8" fuel line, flared the end, and installed 3/8'' end fitting . I want to install a 45 degree angle adapter to it that I can connect to the flexible hose going to the motor, however im having trouble finding the correct adapter, any suggestions? the fuel line in the pic has been cut back some so it only goes like half way across the main tube-Andy cobra garage 125 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

First question would be, what kind of fitting do you have on the end of that hard line? Inverted flare, or AN? Kind of looks like inverted flare. Second, what type of flexline are you planning to use? AN with braided stainless, barb fittings with rubber hose, OEM stuff? Can't give meaningful options unless I know what you have in mind.

I would eliminate the flared fitting/line and install an AN nut and sleeve then flare the line to AN (37deg). From there you can get whatever you need in AN and go to any hose easily.

Like Weenydog said, I prefer the tube nuts and sleeves, but you do need to make a 37deg single flare on the tube. You could also use a compression to AN fitting and avoid the flaring altogether.
This compression fitting does not require any flaring, and with the male end it will mate up to a hose end nicely without the need for a coupler. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-2200077B/

I'm in the process of changing fuel lines too. Here's another solution for going from 3/8" steel line to AN fittings: Search Results | 165006 In talking with the sales rep, I was advised that this fitting would easily handle the 43 psi needed by my EFI system. As long as you're just starting, I'd suggest you look at PTFE (Teflon) lined flexible hoses. The alcohol and additives in the gas will reportedly degrade the rubber linings of older hoses; even those meeting the SAE J30R9 standard will degrade.
For your information, here's the write-up from the Hot Rod Magazine (January 2011) on fuel line meeting the SAE J30R9 standard:
Budget Solution: J30R9
If you just want reasonable longevity at a modest cost without regard to appearance, the budget, parts store solution is hose meeting SAE standard J30R9 or (just becoming available) the further improved J30R12. Although these hoses can operate at up to 180 psi, what really makes them better than generic parts store hoses are the improved materials they're made from, designed for contact with alcohols, diesel, oxygenate additives, and oxidized gas. Although the outer walls are usually still hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber (HNBR) or CPE, internally there's a thin fluoroelastomer, FKM, or Viton core. Collectively, the design also resists cracking caused by sour gas and reduces emissions because fuel can't evaporate through the hose. XRP is said to be working on a braided racing hose conforming to SAE J30R9 that may eventually replace traditional CPE-cored formulations. This would offer significantly improved durability but still keep down the price of race hose. We'll keep you updated on XRP's progress. While J30R9 is better than old-school fuel hose, like any rubber-based hose, it, too, eventually deteriorates. In fact, domestic OE new-car manufacturers have pretty much switched to Teflon-based hoses.

Hi Harvey, that is the same as the Summit brand version that I listed.

Just a note on this fitting, it is for compressing aluminum tube only. For steel tubing you should use a steel compression to AN fitting.
I prefer to use compression fittings on tube instead of flaring, a lot less hassle. I ran stainless tube for my fuel lines and used stainless fittings from Swagelok. A little pricey, but I guarantee it will not leak if installed correctly.
I believe that Forte's sells these.

Hi,
I stock & sell the pricey Swagelok fittings. Top quality hydraulic fitting you purchase just once. Remember these are stainless steel fitting that are made in the USA....
BTW, The can be reused if you purchase new sleeve & taper. They are not really compression fitings like automotive fittings.

Just checked with AN Plumbing [Earl's] about whether the fitting I referred to will work with steel lines. The answer was yes; it will work with both galvanized and stainless steel lines.
