The motor mounts will properly locate the engine in the frame. Thread the nuts onto the studs of the motor mounts just a couple of turns, not even snug, to keep it from coming out of place as you jockey it around.
Support the back of the bell housing some how, so it doesn't twist the motor mounts and damage them.
The power angle is about 3-5*.

No prob. supporting the bell...already have a little somtin' in mind.
Just wanna be sure that routing hoses and such are in the ball park.
Biggest "distance thing" front to back is the mechanical throttler linkage.
May just wait til trans is set to finalize that piece. Hoses at least flex!!!!

You could complete all of the pieces of the mechanical linkage from pedal to firewall, and leave the last piece (the rod from the firewall lever to the carb) to measure when you get the trans.

Once the motor mount is is bolted into the frame slot, it's no going to move more than about 1/8" fore and aft. That slot allows you to level the engine, but there's really no movement front to back or side to side.
Set the motor mount studs in the slots. Level the engine side to side. Set the power angle at 3*.
The trans and bellhousing bolt to the back of the engine, and are located by the engine. The engine locates the trans, not the other way around.

What is the power angle, the engine tilted slightly back?
What is the power angle, the engine tilted slightly back?
Exactly. It's usually compared to the horizon, and not the chassis - just like pinion angle.
