5+ years - time to graduate FFR 6113 - Graduate # 18 of 2012
I told my wife that this project would take about 1-1/2 years (and it probably would have if not for this forum) Thanks to all for helping me through this and for blowing my budget. Anyway, it's been a lot of fun and I'm already starting to miss the build. I feel like I altered every part that I touched - did almost everything myself including fabricating the roll bar, bodywork & paint. I tore the heater apart and twisted it around so I could have the heater w/defroster and a glovebox. The dash is made from a sheet of engine turned aluminum. It has cruise control with a control that hides under the dash. Swapped my transmission for a T5Z and converted it to midshift with S10 parts. Comfort adds: power steering, power brakes, seat heaters, whitby top, Probe turn signal system. Colors are both 65 Mustang colors: Wimbledon White and Caspian Blue. Engine upgrades are coming this winter. Here are some pics.
May 5th, 2007 in Wareham, Mass.
I made a stone guard for the radiator and installed Mike Everson's radiator aluminum
Put a radius on the cockpit edges. Battery cut-off switch
Dash w/glovebox. The seats, door panels (Herb's), parking brake cover and shifter boot are all leather. My wife made the shifter boot (covering the MGW shifter) Essex carpeting (cockpit & trunk)
Hide-away cruise control panel
Bolt on hood scoop
Kept the stripes going under the hood & trunk. This shot shows the Whitby top stowed in the trunk. A benefit of the full-width roll bar is the extra space gained when the center stubs for the single roll bars are removed. Oh yeah - I changed to the rectangular tail lights.
With the soft top installed
This is a Sankuer trunk lid

Absolutely, positively, beautiful... I'm sure it was worth every minute of that 5+ years and will give you many more years of enjoyment. Thanks for the inspiration!

I can't get over how the Caspian Blue changes with the light. In one picture it almost looks like Indigo Blue and another it looks like Guardsman Blue.
I'm doing a similar cruise control, any hints or thoughts on its installation.
I bet one big time adder was that engine turned dash. Very nice job on that and the entire car!!

There were some question about the stone guard. I bought the mesh from Pegasus Auto Racing - here's the description:
3641-18X24 Medium Mesh Stainless, #6 x .035 Wire, 18 x 24" Sheet 1 1 18.99
I used "U" channel aluminum and made a frame to surround the mesh. Riveted the mesh to the front inside wall of the channel. I put some straps on the frame and then used some nylon spacers to hold it away from the radiator fins. I hope the text on these pics is big enough to read.
This shot is looking through the oil cooler slot
I had to reposition my radiator to stand up straighter. I wanted to make sure that the bottom was low enough so the frame wasn't visible from the front. After adding the guard, Mike's aluminum needed to be custom fit since everything had changed.
Oh - if you notice in the 4th picture, I painted the black bulb seal silver. Seems to be holding up well.
Hope this helps!
