Mustang Wiper switch parts, I think I'm missing something

I ordered a set of '65 Mustang knobs (Ignition, Lights, and Wipers) and the parts came in today. I started studying them and can't figure out for the life of me how to assemble and mount the Wiper switch on the FFR dash without some significant fabrication. I'm not envisioning how it secures. I think I may be missing a part (despite talking to the guys at CJ Pony Parts to confirm I had everything I needed). I think there should be a nut that goes thru the bezel and screws onto the shaft threads. Am I close?
I think I have the Ignition switch almost figured out, but this thing is like a chinese nail puzzle to assemble. I think I've almost got it, but not quite.

I'd appreciate any insight on how you mounted your Wiper switch? Pictures would be a huge help.

here's what I ordered:
Wiper switch:
WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH DASH BEZEL 1964-1966
Part Number: HW1400

WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH KNOB 1964-1966
Part Number: HW1399

WIPER SWITCH SPACER 1964-1966
Part Number: HW1392

2 SPD VARIABLE WIPER SWITCH 1964-1966
Part Number: WWS9

I'm going to continue trying things and hope that the light bulb goes off.

you are missing a nut (that sounds funny )

switch goes from behind the aluminum dash, then the nut to secure it, then the cover over the nut, then the bezzel and lastly the knob, at least that is the order I think it goes, but you are missing a nut for sure

Wink the right order

MPTech,

The order of your picture (Lf to Rt) is the order you have to assemble the unit . . . switch, then switch spacer, then the dash bezel, then your MISSING nut, then the knob.
Switch and switch spacer go behind the dash (cup toward dash), bezel and the missing nut on the outer side of dash, knob set screwed to shaft.

HTH

No, I actually sent them a similar list to the one I posted. Broken down into Ignition switch parts, Light switch parts, and Wiper parts. I called them on the phone first, then sent them the list. They reviewed it and sent it back with 2 replacement parts that were no longer carried, BUT they left 3 critical parts off of the list that I sent them. I asked them about the 3 missing parts, and their answer was to the effect of "oh, yeah. those to". That should have been my first clue.

Yep, here's the part I'm missing. Makes sense now.
SCOTT DRAKE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH RETAINER NUT 1965-1966

Thanks guys!

Now if I could just figure out how to assemble this Ignition Switch. I'm close, but the spring makes trying to put this thing together under tension, a PITA!
I'll figure it out, but any tips to this chinese finger torture would be appreciated.

Did find a good video on the Vintage-Mustang Forum, that allowed me to successfully install the bezel, but I still can't get the tumbler to seat properly. I'll mess with it some more tomorrow.

Called CJ Pony Parts this morning. The guy was very helpful and the parts were no shipping anyways, so I wasn't out any additional shipping charges, just a minor inconvenience.

btw, I picked up one of these too. Should make installation easier and I don't tear something up trying to tighten it with the wrong tool. (would have been nice if they had suggested that on my first order. But their website did)

btw, Rich GRSC, don't buy this tool, you can borrow mine

I ended up cutting off a coil to make the spring shorter, there was no way it would compress to fit in my padded dash.

Good choice. Wiper you can use a large screwdriver, but for the Headlight switch you need this tool.

Don't cut a full coil. Do it incrimentally, a little at a time until you can install. If you cut off too much there won't be enough tension to hold to dash. HTH

I had trouble trying to assemble the ignition, but determined that the "slots" that the frankenstein bolts/tabs fit into on the bezel were pretty rough, so I carefully went over the slots with a couple small files to clean up the edges and smooth them out. The switch / bezel went together much easier. I don't know if this will present a challenge when I cover it (I know I will need to open the dash holes a little at that time).

My challenge now is inserting the tumbler. Messed with it for 1/2 hour and could not figure it out, so I walked away before I broke something. Came back later and tried it again, but still no luck. I've watched the stupid video about 4 or 5 times and he makes it look TOO FRICKIN' EASY. Directions from the manufacturer would have been NICE.
I also called CJPony parts tech service, but haven't heard back yet.
