I was at the Monterey Motorsports Reunion today and overheard someone say that CSX2001 (the first one ever made and in the Shelby private collection) is for sale for $26 million...
Son of a B**ch that Gulf Gt40 lot #139 sold for $10,000,000!!!!!!!!
Yup, headed to Utah

Yep, all one does to that car is clean it up a little and get it running. No restoration needed.

Saturday, August 18--CSX 2000 is the one in the Shelby collection and is sitting in the Shelby museum in Las Vegas. He reportedly turned down a 20 million offer for it but I never read who made the offer. CSX 2001 was the first Cobra sold to the public. CSX 2000 is in pretty rough shape but they left it that way on purpose and the "patina" looks pretty cool. I know they don't wash it but I suspect they dust it now and then. The value of CSX 2000 is why CS is not in the ground yet. At least one of the reasons.

Nor will he be. He was creamated and the ashes split 5 ways.
That saga will just be a tiny precursor to the battle for the estate that will likely follow.
ok, now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

His seventh wife Cleo and he were in the process of divorcing but it had not taken effect yet. She said she wanted to bury him, but his kids said that he specifically requested cremation. Be interesting to know how the children obtained that decision. Anyway, glad to hear that part is over, though the lawsuits may drag on forever.
