Drove a Chevy Camaro this weekend. It had a projected display of the speedometer, Odometer and other instrumentation on the windshield.
Has anyone else seen this? Anyway to do such a thing in the cobra?

I have seen some cheap ones on e-bay, but not sure how they would work. I think they are also GPS style as well

I had rented a Camaro with the heads-up display and I thought it was terrific once I to used to it. With the radio controls on the steering wheel and the station display on the windshield, along with other important info, I think my next car will have this.
I owned a 2000 Corvette that had the HUD and it was great. Always easy to see your speed, which helps keep you out of trouble.
Also able to view other gauges and I think tire pressures too.
Not sure if the aftermarket ones would work well because the angle of the cobra windshield is pretty steep. Haven't seen anyone do it and it might look pretty strange having the hole in the body near the windshield. Maybe if you had a temporary one that displayed RPMs...that would be very helpful for track events.
You will also need a special windshield with a special reflecting coating, or you could just get a iPhone/android app and set your phone on top of the dash
You don't need a special windshield. Heads Up Display...Been there, done that. Did that on the Cobra (2329) for over three years.
You can simply download any speedometer app on your Iphone or other mobile device. attach a piece of velcro to the back of the phone and the top of the dashboard. Use the reverse function display on the downloaded speedometer app and put the phone on top of the dash The speedometer or other information will appear PERFECTLY on the stock windshield or Fast Freddies, which ever one you happen to be using. Been doing that for over three years now as the speedometer in FFR#2329 kicked the bucket six years ago. The display is crystal clear in both daylight and at night. At night you can dim the display if you like.

Gotta get an iphone. Don't know if anyone has ever budgeted one of those into their build!

Hmm, I'll have to try it in the roadster. I downloaded a couple iPhone speedo apps and tried them in my daily driver and I couldn't see it all during the day.
