Currently hooking up my engine and completing my wiring in the next couple weeks (I hope!)
Engine:
'93 Mustang Roller 302
GT-40P ported heads
FMS F-cam
Explorer intake (Mustang intake 58mm TB)
24lb injectors + Pro-m meter calibrated for 24s
With my engine setup, I also received an MSD A9L (and was already hooked to the engine I bought), but I've read several posts and received recommendations to run the stock Mustang setup.
So I think I'm going to go with the stock OEM style coil, what brand / model can you recommend?
I found these, are there any specific ones to avoid or recommend:
I can only comment on what I've used. On both the roadster and coupe, I used the MSD Blaster 2 coil, with the MSD Distributor and MSD-6AL box. They were mounted on the front of the DS head, no problems with either.
Roadster, 428 FE
Coupe, 331 stroker
Can't see it, it's behind the AC compressor on the front of the head.

Although it goes against the affinity most of us have for flashy colors and racy brand names I am a big fan of sticking with the reliability of OEM parts when applicable. In the case of my moderately built 302 I do not need a super hot spark and simply used a good quality OEM replacement from NAPA.
I mounted it to the 3/4" square tube by the hood opening to keep it away from direct engine heat.

Mark, Jeff nailed it 100%, stay away from the flashy, bright, $$$$$$$$ stuff. It wont make even even 1hp more.
Step away from the bright colors, step away from the bright colors.
