Fox vs 95 GTintake?

I have a 95 5.0 with the harness, computer and all the stock fuel system that I will be installing. But… I really don’t like looks of the 95 intake. Can I swap the upper and T-body from a Fox? Will everything plug in and work? I have all the Fox stuff including fuel rails. This is a budget build so unless I can get an aftermarket or GT-40 real cheap ($50 ) I have to work with what I have.

Pretty sure you can't do that. EGR and throttle body wiring are different.

The wiring harness is not the same. The EGR is different. The TPS sensor is not quite the same. Some of the sensors are in different locations. The ignition module is on the fender apron instead of the distributor. All that being said, the 95 harness can be modified to work with an earlier intake.

Alot of people think it is more trouble than it is worth.

I do have a modified 95 engine harness that I removed from my 95 Mustang 5 years ago. It was on it with a Fox body style intake when I bought it. I removed it for a 95 Cobra intake and an unmodified harness. It should still be in working order if you are interested in it.

Thanks for the information guys. If I understand this correctly, I could use the fox intake if I change the engine harness over to the fox one or do I have to use a full fox harness? I do have a fox engine harness but the main harness is 95. I don't plan on using the EGR system.

Wayne, just get one of these for the fox intake you have and be done with it.

Quite honestly trying to wire around it is going to be more hassle than it's worth. The 94/95 is a better under hood harness. It is remote TFI rather than mounted on the distributor and you don't have the salt and pepper shaker connectors to worry about. The computer is a load based program as well so no BAP sensor issues to deal with.

You will be able to reuse the SN95 throttle body and I have a used EGR if you need it.

Frankeeski is correct, you can use the throttlebody elbow to mount the 94-95 TB to the older Fox style upper intake. The lowers are the same so any Explorer or Cobra or tubular GT40 upper will work with the matching lower. You could use the stock Fox intake but there wouldnt be any benefit to it. Good Luck with it.

Thanks for the information. Ill use the fox intake with the elbow. Every thing else will be the 95 stuff.
