I have a problem with my head lights, it shut down...
It does not matter if the engine are running or not, it shut down even if I only have the lights on in the garage and not even touch the car. The time it works before it shut down are different from time to time. The rest of the lights works fine, parking light, rear etc.
I think the ground connections are fine, all other things works both before and after the head light has shout down. For info, I have changed the headlights to new ones with a separate parking light mounted inside and the whole headlight have same ground cable.
sounds like a relay or circuit breaker problem . 1st find out what is not there power or ground . either will kill the lights . Sometime the switch will do this as well . if you have a spare try it . Bob

The light switch has an internal circuit breaker for the headlights. (The other light circuits are on external fuses.) If the headlight circuit is overloaded, the breaker will open, and reset when the load decreases.
Are you using standard headlights or high amperage replacements?
The internal circuit breaker in the light switch sounds like something to look closer on. I cant remember the amperage on the new headlights but I check it out and compare with those from FFR.
I have a 3-way switch mounted to switch between the low and high beam so I cant have them both on at the same time, thanks anyway, but something seams to trigg the internal circuit breaker in the main headlight switch.
yeah now its making sense , circuit breaker is in the switch, Sweden = Europe , sort of, they can use use real headlights over there. The ones that are illegal here Bob

Before you put a penny in the fuse socket to keep it from blowing, it is best to find out why it is blowing.
Determine why the breaker is opening first. If it's because of high wattage/current bulbs, yes add a relay to handle the current. Be aware that the circuit has a breaker rather than fuse so that it can reset with a reduction of load. With a fuse, if it blows during a night drive, you are in the dark until you can replace the fuse. So putting the high beams on a fuse would be OK, but putting the total headlight circuit on a fuse could put you in the dark.
