build 7859

i receive my complete kit on july 30th just finished inventory and found i was mission a few parts that were never on my order but got that fixed with ffr. great guys to work with. . i could not be more excited. i got the complete kit with the upgraded aluminum high back seats and the 3 link set up and was able to take advantage of the sale and purchased the polished pipes and 17 hailbrand rims and heater and passanger roll bar. my drive train will be a 2005 4.6 3 valve engine with the 2005+ transmission.
my goal is to build a street car that the family can have fun with. nothing too serious. im expecting about 350 hp to rear wheels. it will be manual steering and brakes. ill try to geep this post updated on my status of the car. i appoligize ahead of time if i have lots of questions along the way.

the build is coming along. today i was able to finish the engine bay and connected the steering. just need to connect the tie rod ends. its starting to look like a car now.I have started the cockpit aluminum. im really glad i powder coated all the aluminum panels and decided to use black rivets. mt little boy was so excited to sit in the car and be ale to steer it. black is really sharp but ive noticed it does scratch very easy though. im hoping if all goes as planed. i will be installing the engine next weekend. ill try to post pictures again after the motor goes in.

Did you powder coat before you drilled all the holes?

Interesting, I don't know if there is a right & wrong answer here, but my tranny tunnel aluminum doesn't touch the 3/4" tubing on the sides. If I did try to rivet it, it would distort the side panels.

btw, your black on black on black looks terrific!

It does pull the panels a little on the side walls. But i want a good contact for there is no rattling. It will all be covered anyways.

I assume you're bolting up the motor and trans, and then install.

Put the front end as close to the ground as you can and still get the engine hoist legs below it. Raise the tail end of the car as high as you can. My motor and trans are coming out again this weekend too. Clutch swap.

So tonight I was able to modify the transmission brace. The transmission is now mounted. The cockpit aluminum is next on the list to do. I'm so excited to get this thing to the o cart stage. I'll post more pictures soon.
