If you would have waited longer we probably could have talked you into a Kirkham or Superformance tank!

Keep in mind overflow tanks are unpressurized, surge tanks have 15 pounds behind the cap.

Ask the guy who unscrewed the one on his Chevy the other day in front of the store. The cap hit him in the face, and he was showered with hot antifreeze.

I'm beginning to think the makers need a safety flap over the caps on surge tanks with illuminated lettering - but people don't read or heed warnings at all these days anyway.

By the way, a replacement surge tank sells for about $45 and can handle system pressure. They are made of plastic and usually see 200,000 miles on them.

got the same one, very happy with it, put mine on the cross frame of my mk3 but the mk4 you got is a round cross frame, harder to install.
i installed a peck-cock on the bottom of mine.

Looks good Rich.
I moved my daughter into her college apartment today, so no work in the garage. Might try to drill it tonight.
Thanks for your help and thanks to Don & Immarghertus, too.

Just put this bad-boy in tonight...its the 3 inch X 16 inch model (just under 2 quarts). Bought it on ebay for 45 bucks delivered. Installed in 15 minutes. Could eat the FFR one for lunch and have room left over for a snack. Looks sorta badass under the hood.
