Yep been using one for years. Bought one from Performance Distributors. I have a 14-inch round air cleaner with a 3-inch tall KN filter.

PS: You can see it here (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...type=1&theater)

Thanks ray.

I have one of the 289-style lids, I think it's 15"

The one I bought has a cast iron gear and I was planning on swapping it with the one on the Duraspark I'm using now so I don't have to worry about the compatibility issue.
Can you give me a run-down on the wiring?

You can look at a Pertronix Distributor.

The good and the Bad

The good is the dizzy is good and virtually maint free. The bad is it limits air cleaner selection. Not to big a problem IF you are using most engines. If running a tall deck 351
the block is so tall that the air cleaner will hit the hood , if you use a taller air cleaner to clear the EFI dizzy. And you can't use a drop base to clear hood because hits the Dizzy.

Had to use a KN 2" and flow top. and modify the base plate to get it all in and still just barely touches hood on hard acceleration. If had to do it again would use a different Dizzy.
But only for that reason.

Kenny

PS thats on a MK 3 body with molded hood/scoop. Other choice would be larger scoop.

Mike,

The set-up I have has a 12-volt power wire, a wire to the tach and of course the 8-spark plug wires. I added their rev limiter last year so there is an extra wire for that. Do you want some photos? Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send you some.

That's what I have now, I put it together back when I swapped from EFI to carb. It works OK on the top end and if you have a cam that allows you to idle about 900-950 it's fine but with my small E-cam I should be able to drop the idle down to 750 or so, but with the system I have the spark goes away under 875. Something to do with the Duraspark and Hall Effect.
