Heat Shields - Drummer Mike

Just a reminder that Drummer Mike makes a great product to protect those legs when getting in and out of the roadster. I received mine last week. Excellent quality and easy to install.

Sorry Dave. At almost 80 posts now... you KNOW the rules! No pics, didn't happen!

I have them as well and have to agree they are 'da bomb' when it comes to heat shields. Simple, elegant and effective.

DRUMMERMIKE is a member here (not a paying forum vendor), and I don't want to get him in to trouble by 'advertising' for him.

I'm happy to share details via PM if you like, but most of what you need is available by searching using some of the terms in this post.

Here are some pics of what my heat shields look like:

Put me in for the next batch. Finally at a point in my build where I need them (don't ask me how I know).

Here is a dumb question DrummerMike and I have probably asked before, but can I get them with bare stainless steel on the outside and ceramic coated on the inside? I just want to polish the outside so that it matches the shiny stainless pipes that I have.

after two years of procrastination (my specialty) I finally got Mike's shields-after installing em I wasn't sure if I liked the look - then I got used to the new 'look' - now I love em and would not have a snake without these shields-and even after a long drive they are barely warm. great price-great product-great service. best looking shields out there! thanks agan DrummerMike

I had my heat shields ceramic coated black. I can put my hand on them when the car is hot and they will not burn you. It has already saved one or two legs. The look is growing on me.

I love my DrummerMike shields. Actually, the day I ordered my shields, my niece burnt her leg on my pipes (ordered them in the morning and she got burned later that day). Third degree burns in an instant. Good insurance and they look good too.

Wish I could post pic of mine, but I am having trouble with my MAC posting pics on this forum. Haven't figured out the problem yet. But take a look at the pic posted by others on the forum.

Ooo, I like them in black. Thanks for sharing, Jim.
How do these attach to the side pipes?

Scott, The shields are attached at 2 places per shield with stainless t-bolt clamps isolated with strips of header wrap. Mike

I got a set of shields from Drummermike last spring after my second snakebite. Couldn't be happier with the quality and friendly service from Mike, and they look great too...

I have a set of Drummer Mikes. How do you guys polish them? They are very dull when I received them and stainless is not easy to polish.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim, The shields you ordered were uncoated, which is unfinished stainless. As Bob (PhoneGuy) suggested, take them to a polisher and let them do their magic. Bob's came out great and unless you have experience and polishing equipment, it's money well spent. Mike
