Female Olympic shooter built her own Cobra replica?

Impressive - Kim Rhode built a car that's way cooler than mine, she probably knows more about engine internals than I do, and it's a safe bet that she's a better shot than I am.

Ask Olympic Gold Medal Sharp Shooter And Gearhead Kim Rhode Anything You Want

Kim Rhode's Classic Car Collection - Shooting Video | NBC Olympics

Any idea what brand replica she built?

It does not look like any replica model I have ever seen.

Kind of looks like an ERA. It has fiberglass inner fender panels. She also has a sway bar mounted high that goes in front of the radiator. Nice looking car actually.

I saw a couple of cars at Carlisle in May. Did not notice if the roll bar was viasble behind the seat like hers.

I'd say Classic II judging by the door cutline. Pretty telltale.

In the storey it says it's a ERA

It took her more than five years to put the Cobra together, by hand, It has an era-appropriate 427 side-oiler, stroked to 454 cubic inches, with two four-barrel carbs.

What kind of harness is she wearing? The thing looks like it almost wraps around her neck and is very uncomfortable..

credit due..........

Not sure what car exactly and honestly, I think the important idea here is that she, a faily young car enthusiast and a female, has taken pains and shows knowledge that she can build a cool car! All that and she is on the USA team in shooting. That to me is very impressive and I bet she knows just how to drive the thing, probably as well as many of us. Just my take on it......but boy, that is a cool thing!

Not close to an ERA at all. But a nice car and she is right to be proud of it and of building it.

It's not an ERA, it's a "era" appropriate car, as Bob stated.
Classic Roadsters was the only company that made an elongated door with that notch at the top, to ease entry and exit.
It's a Classic Roadsters car.

She won the gold

She just won the gold medal by breaking the Olympic record and tied the world record. She is the first American to individually medal in 5 straight Olympics.

2012 Summer Olympics -- U.S.'s Kimberly Rhode wins skeet gold, fifth straight medal - ESPN

I hope the link worked. If not, it is the headline on ESPN

I think in the video she said it was an AC cobra.

Did she mean this (as opposed to the old AC body of the car)?:
AC AUTOS :: 67 Roadster

Very cool on the gold and the car!

As stated before, it is a Classic Roadsters replica. If you go to the 37 second mark on the video in the 2nd link, you'll notice that it has weird roll bars besides the weird doors.

That picture is from: Cobras for sale--427 Cobras for sale by owner in the 3rd for sale listing.

Still pretty cool that she built it herself. Not many females can say that.
