I am wondering if you can polish the stock FFR wheels? Are they all aluminum? Anyone done this?

I saw that you can buy ones that look like these already polished. But i figure since i own these, i would see if i can get these done locally or something. I want to know if its even possible before i take them off and go somewhere.

It will likely be a lot cheaper to sell your wheels on here (I've seen many sets sell for $1,000) and just buy a polished set. Stripping that paint and polishing them isn't going to be cheap, if it's even possible.

Has anyone tried the PVD (physical vapor deposition) Mirror Chrome finishes that Black Diamond Wheel in California offers? They advertise in Autoweek a price of $695 per set.

Looks like a beautiful mirror chrome and wouldn't need constant polishing.

here are

The Team III polished wheels. I thought they'd be hard to keep clean but not so.
Best set of wheels I've ever owned!

To get the deeper dish rear look, can you use the standard width rear axle?

Be careful with the rear axles.

Apparently my car came with the later model rear axles which have about 3/4 of an inch additional length to allow the ABS system. Team III makes a 17 X 10.5 wheel which I am running on the rear with a 6.5 inch rear offset. They are deep but I have a bit of overhang outside the wheel well. I'll be switching axles out in the fall to bring the wheels back inside the rear fender wells. Attached is a pic of my rear wheels. Richard Oben can help you with what to order. My only advise is be careful how you measure and check your axle length before you order.

Romero's Custom Polishing in El Cajon. He polished my friend's set of Porsche Fuchs alloys for $350 I think. These have more surfaces so I'm sure it would be more.
