reverse open trunk?

OK, I'm not sleeping again so I have time to think (Dangerous)
I noticed when I have the APE top on I cannot open my trunk to full swing.
So I was thinking of reversing the swing of the trunk to open like a rumble seat to allow ease of getting things out when the top is on.
Has anyone done this? IF so what did they use for hindges?

Just a thought at this stage.

i have heard this to be done.
just another mod Bob

keep the hinges the same, maybe you can look into an offset hinge, or a slide out concealed hinge

have a beer and think about it

There are some threads here about the LeMans top, and some have taken it to the extent of a reverse opening trunk. That's the only way to get into one with that top.
Look at page five of this thread. Nice photos showing the top and reverse trunk.

My Ape top doesn't inhibbit my trunk function in any way. Make sure you have the trunk hinges on the correct sides. If they are the FFR stye there is a definite left and right. Get them on the wrong side and the trunk lid will barely open.

Currently Breeze hidden hinges.
The factory piviot at the seam, so yes it would open with them.

Lemans Top / Trunk Reversal

It also appears that the trunk lid was made shorter as well as reversed to clear the Lemans Top.

Regards, Rick.
