Well I have about 500 miles on 5385 so far, and it has been mostly problem free. Several of the problems I have had were pedal related. Even with the skinny puma driving shoes I stil can hit the gas when going for the brakes. This sucks when it happens. I really need a pedal bender.
The old pedal bender lists seem to be broken. I know this is a sore subject for the old dogs here. Does anyone have a bender to loan? I will be quick, and pay shipping both ways. If you can help me out please send me a PM - Thanks

Try Wayne at VCP
I think he sells them...

I've got one that I had built a couple of years ago. I need to check to see if I know where it is, due to the fact I am in between garages. I will look today and if I find it, you are more than welcome to use it.

Instead of being part of the problem, why not be a part of a successful and positive solution.
I used the old Mustang pedal box on mine with the manual vs power cut to lower the pivot point. It's tricky to do but if you know someone who does welding and has a cutting tourch you can get him to heat the pedal you want to bend red hot in a small area and bend it to your satisfaction. If he knows about heating metals and retaining the hardness this might be something to consider, he can heat a small area red hot and it will bend easily, cool that area and heat 1 or 2 in below and bend back. I removed both of mine during the install and bent them in a vise with a BFH. Took me several tries before I got both just right. I also cut a wedge out of my clutch pedal and welded it back together so that the clutch was not higher then the brake. Painted both gloss black with a rattle can. I also have the fire wall adjuster and the aluminum quadrant on mine as well as Whitbys adjustible brake push rod and If I wear narrow shoes (size 11 feet D width ) I can manage to get it right. The footbox is tight so every 1/4 inch of foot room helps. I also cut and installed an access door on my Coupe so I can get at the top of the pedal box to get at the brake switch, clutch cable and the pushrod.
Just an idea

OK so it's not Wayne it's Bill.
I remember the tread now... Bill bought it from a member...
Cloned it after that and sent three out into the FFR general population, all of which appear to now be missing in action as the original 6 were after less than a year

they gotta be out there somewhere, I sent out at least 8 of them bout 3 years ago, NOW I WANT THEM BACK!!!!!!!
just klddin, but really these guys and they know who they are should get off them and put them back into circulation but then maybe since they have thier cars done they dont need the forum and the benders are stuck sittin on thier shelves. just my opinion.
chas
CHAS55-I am one of those 8, and have had it for a while. I make no excuses, I was just completely lazy about getting it back in circulation. I will send it back to you, or whomever you think I should send it to. I apologize for having it this long, just let me know where to send it.

I never have understood why people hang on to them for weeks or months. It only takes a few minutes of use one should be finished with it.
If we can locate two or three of them, I'd be willing to manage and keep track of the pedal benders. I think I would be inclined to change the process though. I think it would be appropriate to have people put up a refundable deposit, plus $5.53 which is the cost to ship a USPS Priority Main Small Flat Rate Box. If the PB was to go missing, the deposit could be used to make another one.
It's too bad, but the honor system doesn't work.. BTW, I not talking about you BUG.. I'm talking about all of the pedal benders that have gone missing, never to be seen again.
Just a thought, but how about making a sticky thread with the diminsions of the bender and how to construct one? Then if someone needs one then they could refer to the thread and make their own.

Joe- even though you said you weren't talking about me, you were. lol. I completely dropped the ball on this pedal bender, I am too embarrassed to even say how long I have had it!

I knew this post would stir the pot . Glad to see there might be a couple that we can put back in circulation. I am happy to help with this Joe, and if there is a list please put me on it!.
Once someone has one they feel free to loan, please let me know. I will turn this around quickly, and I am happy to ship it where I am told when I'm done.
A local builder loaned me his homemade bender. I am sneaking up on a final location. I have moved it about 3/4" to the left, and this has made a big difference. I feel much more comfortable driving with the threat of hitting the gas removed. I may try to straighten it up a little, but I don't want to break the arm.
No I did not , not getting much response from the seller so I am looking into having one made car is done just trying to get the bug out of it and that is my biggest bug
instead of bending the pedals, I cut the clutch and brake pedals off just to the right of the p[edal stalk. Then I used the pedal covers like in the pics, and offset them to the outside of the car. spacing is perfect, no awkwardly bent pedals. 7 years, 24,000 miles, racing, never a bungled pedal mash.

You'll have to posts some pics, I'm not sure I visualize what you did... How did you reattach the pedals?
