Need another Temp sensor port

I am setting up an auto fan and need an idea where to put another temp sensor. I currently have one in the manifold for my efi, I have one in the 90 deg inlet for my gauge.

I was looking at fortes degas tank. But just wanted to see what others have done. If I went with Forte's I would put the guage temp sensor in the tank and put the auto fan in the 90 deg inlet.

Any ideas or comments are welcome, I currently have a manual switch to control fan.

Could I drill and tap the "T" fitting where the rad cap is?

As always thanks guys

Cory

I see that you have a 3.1 complete kit which implies an FFR (AFCO) aluminum radiator. Remove the bleed petcock from the upper corner of the driver's side tank and put your sensor there.

I'm a big fan (no pun intended) of the Painless coolant temp switches. They are a true on/off switch, not a grounding switch, so you would simply need to put it in parallel with your current manual toggle. Several temperature ranges are available; here's an example:

Doesn't get much easier

Yes I do have the AFCO Rad.
So I should put the guage sensor in the Rad and put the auto fan one in the 90 deg inlet?

Adapter

Jeff has got it right. That is good spot to put a switch if you have room. If not, there are radiator hose inline adapters for a switch also. Check with Forte or Breeze and see if they have them. Jeg's has some from Autometer and FlexaLite.

radiator+hose+adapter+ - JEGS High Performance

Keep the gauge sensor mounted in the manifold, otherwise it will never be accurate. There should be a sensor location at the driver's side front that can be used for a gauge.

The fan sensor can be in the radiator.
