POR has a good product, but it is wicked pricey. I have used both VHT and Duplicolor high heat engine paints in rattle cans and they were both excellent. One can does an engine block with several coats for maybe 10 bucks. I didn't see any downside for the cost difference. Both are gasoline proof as far as I could tell.

I followed the Por15 insturctions for their engine enamel. I used standard Por15 as a primer after cleaning the block with Acetone. I then coated it with Por engine enamel. Seems to be holding up pretty well.

I'm a huge POR15 fan on things that are a bit rough and rusty like rear-ends, brake calipers, drums etc... Places that a regular paint won't stick or will be chipped off.

I agree with Roadracer83: "POR has a good product, but it is wicked pricey. I have used both VHT and Duplicolor high heat engine paints in rattle cans and they were both excellent. I used the POR-15 block paint in black, and the silver for the water pump and intake. I only preped with a good acetone bath and soap and water.
It only took the pint can, with only using a small portion of the paint. They have it priced at $23.95.

I am going to redo my block with the black POR-15 engine paint. I have twice used the Dupli-color spray but it hasn't held up. I agree the POR-15 is good for cast items if you are going to brush it on. Not so good for smooth metal unless you are going to spray it. I did my spindles and rear end with it and they look great. The axle tubes did not look so good, so I ended up stripping them down and spraying them with Rustoleum Tuff Stuff.

I got a quart of POR-15 engine paint from Summit (thru Ebay) for 27.90 shipped.

I used the black on the differential - looks great and is holding up after 3 years.

Used three coats of their yellow engine paint - ok but not so great.
