First time I've ever seen the show...pretty much as expected and good exposure for FFR. I wonder where the producers found that Larry the Cable Guy sound-alike to host. I kept expecting him to belt out a "git-er-done".
Watched it and recorded it, pretty much the FFR spanked the Cobra.
They forgot to do a MPG test, I am sure the Coyote sips fuel while the 427 gulps it.
CSX3288 If my memory serves me right is not 427 she is a 428 with street exhaust on her. Like to have seen a head to head one of the Competition Shelby Cobras. Good showing for Factory Five Racing.
Just watched the Muscle Car show where they matched the FFR against an original Cobra. While watching I knew that car looked familiar. Last year some friends of mine on motorcycles when down to the Tail Of The Dragon in NC. Toward the end of the run I get stuck behind another car, but not just any car, an original Cobra. I didn't mind being stuck behind him (but I did mine us both getting stuck behind an obnoxious Harley rider). Turns out the Cobra I get stuck behind was the one on the TV show. Small world. Watch the video (turn the sound down until towards the end when the surprise happens, at 6:45).
Wow Bill, that was awesome! What are the odds of running into that!!!

It's an unwritten rule of etiquette on the Tail of the Dragon that when someone is behind you and obviously wants to go faster to pull over and let them pass. There are many pull-off areas on 129 to do so. I have nothing against Harley riders, heck I was traveling with 4 of them myself (although much further behind me as they couldn't keep up).
Jim Maxwell’s Cobra CSX3288 427 does have an original equipped 428 engine. Jim had a 289 small block Cobra that he recently sold that would run away from his Big Block Cobra with ease.

Hey Jeff,
The whole Powerblock TV lineup is produced in the Franklin, Tenn. area. Without offending anyone intentionally, that should answer your question.

I was at the get together in Charlotte and the whole Muscle Car crew could not have been nicer. Both Tommy, Rick and the camera guys were easy going and hung out with several of us long after the cruise in was over. I don't see what was the point in in making a derogatory remark about them. It just makes you look small.
By the way Dave Smith was a great host as usual.

Note that the announcer pointed out that the original cobra was on hard street tires. No doubt the FFR was on sticky buns. As we all know, tires are just about everything, so it wasn't really a fair contest.

Agreed on the tires. I thought both cars posted disappointing drag times, especially the Coyote-powered FFR. Some drag radials probably would've gotten well into the 11's.
Is it just me or do our cars look better than the original?

At the end of the test she said, without me saying a word..."That wasn't a fair test. I thought they were going to compare the old car with a stock car that average guys build...not a car with the best of everthing they could put in it."
Aside from all of that I loved the comparison though. It showed how a 45 year old car can still hold it's own against the best of modern technology.
The Mark IV looked AMAZING!!! Factory Five is THE BEST!!!!

The tires kinda ruined the comparaison for me. At least put similar tires on both cars...
Still very nice to watch the show, especially with a Coyote, which is the engine I'm planning on using! So just for that it was worth the $2 on the Xbox (it's also available on iTune btw).
Well done FFR
very nice commercial with no bashing. Just pointing out the great points about FFR.
With a nod to old COBRAS.
Well done FFR.

Too many commercials. Nice show to watch. Would've been more competition if it was a 427 race car and not a street car.
Very nice all the way.

It's not just you Jeff... FFR's look better
I agree the tires should have been equal. Both cars should have been around 12.00 et. It would be cool to see some more basic donor FFR's vs. original 289 and 427 AC's.
Based on the mph the FFR turned, either their dyno numbers are way too high or mine are WAY too low. My MKII turns 121 mph... starting in second gear. I should make a bit more torque but I still think something is out of wack.
Cool show still... other than the extremely annoying host, which is the reason I can't watch their other episodes.
