Here's an alternative that gives a nice vintage touch, protects your fingers from the edges of the aluminum spokes, and is cheap and easy. It took just a couple of packages of waxed cotton thread from the local hobby store and an hour or so of easy work.

Here's another option. I used an old style leather cover I bought on ebay:

Marcel - Here is a photo that is someone else's roadster that I saved for another reason, but it has the leather wrap that you are looking for. This is a different dash layout then we have and is not the best picture but does provide somewhat of a visual. FFRRoadster2010-09-24_0003.jpg
EDIT - Sorry for not giving credit for whose roadster this is. I am better now at documenting photo's when I save them to my pc.
p.s. getting ready to glue my foam on my dash and I am a little nervous... this is one of those things that I can't do over... wish me luck as I need it.
You'll be fine. Do one half at a time. That way you can spray half the foam and half the dash, position the un-glued side perfectly, then fold the glued side over starting at the middle for a perfect position. Then fold the un-glued side back, spray the foam and dash, let set up, and then fold it from the middle out for a perfect job.

It is probably my impression in the image, but it looks like there isn't much knuckle room between the wheel and the edge of the door.
We all have our likes and dislikes, but I don't care for this one as much as the one that shows "a little wood" when it is done. The lacing probably gives better grip though.
JMHO Regards, Rick.

Has anyone installed one of the Tangent leather wraps on a finished car? I'm just curious how difficult it would be with the steering wheel already installed in the car or is it easier to just remove the steering wheel.
Thanks.
Mike

Dave S - i agree, seems like removing the wheel would be simpler than trying to work around the dash, turn signal, etc. but was hoping someone would chime in and say they had done it in the car and it was a breeze
G-Pete - i actually like to wear gloves while driving, but when its 100 degrees out, they are a bit uncomfortable.
