Wow Mike
10 loops for 100 including shipping is a steal.
I would think they were worth 100 each.

They sure are. This is a much better solution than the generic summit loop. Here is a pic of Mike's safety loop - mine is now mounted with four riv-nuts, but this will let you see the part.

Weld version?

Mike don't you have 2 versions a rivnut and welded version? Is there a common measurement where to mount the hoop in the tunnel or is it better to wait until the engine and trans are in place to center the hoop? I ask because I will be modifying my chassis to install a 5-link rear suspension and thought I could have the welder do the hoop at the same time. I will not be anywhere near having an engine or trans ready though..

Hi Tom,
You can either bolt or weld the same part in. I would mount it right at the weld on the tubing in the front.
Any other takers???

Bernard,
This is a 'must have' that you will need sooner or later. it protects you from the driveshaft should the universal go, or the driveshaft just come out.

I think most guys run them.

Does the 4" tubing have enough material to tap and just use screws? Is it a bad thing that the mounting tabs hang below the frame rails, or is it close enough to the tires that it won't hang up on speed bumps and such?

I bought and Installed one of mikes hoops. Great product. Great piece of mind. Getting the bolts/ruvnuts right on the curve of the 4" tube is tricky for a noob like me so I had to get creative to rescue the situation. Here is a link to a thread I wrote about dealing with this issue if you have trouble bolting it on because of the tight tolerances and curved faces that have to Line up.

My screw up and how I fixed it

Thanks for making a batch available mike!

Thumbs up Loop

Hi Bill,
The thickness is not enough to bolt directly into the tube. The riv-nut mushrooms over on the inside of the tube. This makes it very secure....

Do I need a rivnut tool for this?

Received my bolt in DSL two weeks ago. Do I need a riv-nut tool for this, or will tightening the bolts be sufficient to mushroom the riv-nuts (assuming the holes are tight enough to preclude the riv-nut from spinning?

does anyone have personal experience being able to rent a rivnut tool of the right size (Home Depot/Lowes or Autozone/Advanced Auto)?

Thanks
