I order my Hilibrand rims from factory 5 today. Now I have to switch the car over to 5 lug nuts. I've read that the Lincoln MK Vll rotor won't work with these rims. The center button on the rotor hits the rim. That leaves me with 2 options. First is to switch the front end over to a sn95 spindle and hub. The second option is to buy 93 mustang cobra rotors. These would install right on my existing spindles and I can use my existing brakes. The difference with these rotors is the (hat), the surface the wheels locates against sticks out further than the MK VII rotor solving the problem with the rims. My question is will these rotors push the 17" x 9" wheels outside the fenders? Or should I go thru the expense and work to switch to the sn95 spindles?

93 Cobras were 4 lug with 17 x 7.5" wheels. Go with SN95 spindles out of a 94-95. That is the best set up.
Cheers.

I've done a little research on this and it seems the 93 mustang had 4 lug nuts but the 93 mustang cobra had 5. I am able to buy the 5 lug rotors from summit racing. I do agree that the sn95 would be a better setup though. Just more work and more money.

I can't say that I know if FFR did anything to make the Lincoln rotors to work now, but this was my solution back when I built my car. I split the difference and machined the rotor and little and the spinner caps a little.
I'm using Lincoln Rotors and FFR Halibrands and don't have an issue. I got mine three years ago. I used Aerostar axles in the rear of the Mk3 to convert to five lug.

I am in the process of building a mk2. I have svo rotors 5 lug which are just about the same as the Lincoln. I just put on my ffr wheels and they fit fine. I read about the other fitment issues however i had no issues at all.
And I should mention, my wheels are NOT Factory Five Halibrand Replicas. They are actual Halibrands that were sold by Discount Tire Online a few years back. Judging by the responses FFR must have made sure to make a wheel that would fit the Lincoln rotors.

Both 93 mustang and Cobra were 4 lug for sure 100%.
Go with SN95 spindles. More work but more options too.
Cheers

Joe, about how much did you machine off of the rotor hub? Did you use a brake lathe with a single cutting bit thats used to resurface drums? If so, did you need to push out the studs?
