Well... The motor fired up like a champ but the nimrod behind the wheel cannot tell the difference between Celsius and Fahrenheit. I was so excited about hearing the engine purr for the first time that the 120 degrees Celsius (260 degrees Fahrenheit) didn't catch my attention until the reverse geyser did.
I tried to break my engine in as directed, attempting to run it at about 2000 RPM for approx 30 min. Approximately 15 min after start up, the geyser made an appearance and I shut it down. My expansion tank bubbled up and looking like it was going to explode.
As it turns out the fan blew a fuse during the process and stopped. I'm not sure at this point if this was the only cause or not.

That is not the engine running in the second video, its the sound of boiling coolant. I'm scared to know what internal damage I may have caused myself.
My nice and shiny polish exhaust is now tinted a copper color. Anyone know if this can be polished out?
If exhaust is ss, can be easily polished.
In regards to engine, I would take a step back and start with basic evaluation. Water in oil? Combustion gas in coolant? Signs of water in any cylinder? (confirm before trying to turn over engine) If no, a basic leak down check should confirm health of head gaskets or spot a potential crack in casting in cylinder.
Do not know parts in engine, aluminum vs steel heads, types of gaskets, etc but there is a 50/50 chance you may not have any permanent damage. If things check out ok, may want to consider bringing engine back up to temp and retorqing heads, once fan is fixed.
I applaud your attitude on this minor setback. A bad day in the garage is still a good day.
Good luck

Get used to it or you'll be polishing instead of driving. The SS can be polished, but you're going to spend ALL your time doing it. Let it patina for that well used look. As long as you keep your A/F normal, it'll look fine with the light color on the headers. Your sidepipes should stay shiny.
Another thing to remember is to make sure you wipe them down after you touch them with your fingers. They will leave marks that are much harder to get out. Oh, you won't be doing this by hand too much either. You'll need some good rouge and a buffer device.

My tinted pipes are a badge of honor, I drive it, I don't spend all my time cleaning it.
It is a good idea to have a fan blowing into the Front, and one on each side during any long time running while in the garage to keep the pipes cool so the HT coating won't burn.

It has edlebrock performer RPM aluminum heads and an aluminum performer RPM intake manifold. I'm not sure of the gasket type.
It sounds like I will need to drain the fluids and look for evidence of failure.
My pipes are polished stainless, so it looks like that wont be an issue. I like the "badge of honor" idea! In my case it might be a badge of stupidity. lol
I would simply go thru the steps I outlined below and as long as everything checks out ok would just change the fluids and take another shot at it. If any signs of fluid in places it should not be or combustion gas in coolant, I would pull heads. Good advice to keep a high powered fan running in front of radiator when running car in place for extended period. On an initial startup it helps move away some of the smoke and smell that occurs when everything gets hot for the 1st time and helps keep areas around headers cool.
I have polished my side pipes a few times with a eastwood bench top buffer(on a stand) and it takes about 20 minutes per pipe to get them perfect. Every now and then you get a platsic bag or something else melted on pipes. If engine tuned properly you should get a hint of bronze or gold color where side pipes exit body that transitions to shiny stainless at about the point the pipes merge in the collector. Patina is cool.
Good luck on the diagnosis.

I went home last night and drained all of the fluids. Annnnnd..... No coolant in the oil.... sigh of relief. There were also no sign of any gasket failure. I filled up the fluids again and fired it back up this time with a working radiator fan. Amazing how much of a difference a radiator fan can make... highly recommend using one . I'm not sure what blew the radiator fan fuse in the first place, I cannot duplicate it. I ran the car for approx. 45 min last night and got the timing dialed in. I was also able to gokart half my neighborhood in the dark last night. Whew doggie... I cant tell you how many times I've gokarted in my head.... There is NOTHING like the real thing. I have a small oil leak I need to get resolved. I'll post a gocart video soon.
Let's chaulk it up to a bad fuse (I've seen several) and get on with the show! Congrats on first start and I'm sure your engine is fine.
