Thermostat vent hole

Hey guys,

I'm about to drill a .125'' vent hole in my new thermostat. Where is the ideal position of the hole?

And I read that the hole have to be at 12 o clock when mounted, 12 o clock from the front of the engine looking at the rear or 12 o clock when i'm sitting in the driver seat looking up front?

Thanks
PL

What? 12 O'clock is straight up when viewed from front or rear. The hole is to help vent out trapped air. Air is lighter than water, so the hole goes at the top.
