I saw Chris P.'s (ILM MK3) trunk Mod and decided to try my own. For a long time I was unimpressed with the FFr "Trunk Striker " screw then I saw something on my friends 99 Honda Accord and thought,
" Hey............."

So here's mine.

Striker is the Door striker from a 99 Honda Accord about $12.00
The plate under the trunk is a piece of scrap 1/4 x 3 x 4 secured with # 14 x 1 self tapping screws to the lower 3/4 trunk tube. The striker is held in place with two 5/16-18 x 1 Stainless machine screws and nylock nuts.

Another plus is when the latch latches, now it "clicks" into place.

Dad, can I drive it????... Ever!!

Took the pipes off for their semi-annual painting. then I thought it would be cool to hear the engine roar without the pipes on. It was awesome but the fun ended when the heater hose blew off. I guess I over revved it. Glad it wasn't hot yet.

Drove it to work...and came home early to get a start on the Christmas break!

Oh, yeah. And I started taking out my trunk sub-floor storage box to replace it with a larger box.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I think this is one of those "big" days in the life of a build. Slipped the engine in after much procrastination over what can go wrong. Took all of 12 minutes (after everything was set up.) Like puting a tight fitting sock on. I can't imagine putting a true 427FE in here. It's a tight fit. It's really looking like a car now. FYI, this is the 427W from Ford Racing.

I've never posted a photo so I hope this works.

I finally installed the proper power steering line for my hydroboost brakes. Wow, power brakes are nice. If anybody was wondering, you can run hydroboost brakes without power steering.

Worked on the ABS some more. Troubleshooting the wiring due to several faults codes which disable the ABS during self diags. The wire drawings don't match the wire colors on several pins to the controller. Frustrating.
