Busted my ass getting the chassis ready for the body. As soon as the Herculiner dries, body goes on, and passenger roll bar openings will be cut. Then off to paint!

Webers!

Wrapped up a month of weekends. Installed a new oil pan, custom cam and Weber carbs. Thanks to Wayne Presley at Very Cool Parts for spec-ing out the cam and carbs for me, as well as a trip to KC to get me tuned and set up.

Thanks to Richard Oben at North Race Cars for the oil pan and use of his shop. As always both were a wealth of help and advice. Would not have gotten done without them.

Between to cam and the carbs, I eeked out another 15 RWHP and 18 FT/LB of torque, and the torque is there through the entire curve. It also idles alot smoother and does not buck at low speeds anymore. Overall - Very happy!

Front Grille

I ordered the grille about a year ago and just got around to installing it this winter. Lots of concerns about scratching the paint with the razor sharp edges on the grille edge. The grille is a stainless steel unit listed in the Breeze catalog #35289 made by Extreme Fabrications.

This grille fits over the radiator opening flange from behind. It sits back an inch or so from the front opening surface. I liked this look better than the flush grill mount. Stainless steel rivits on the top and bottom make it solid.

Very early stage,riveted the passenger foot box,installed the firewall,
shortened the rollbar by 1.5 inch.,F panels are done.Waiting for parts
from Whitby's.

Drilled my dash and installed my gauges (also installed my battery cut-off switch). Cut and partially installed my firewall forward last weekend. Trying to get it all setup to start wiring.

Installed those extremely poor fitting triangular panels that "fit" above the rear splash guards on rear bulkhead. I spilled a beer, swore at them, bent them, swore some more, finally attached. Dr Frankenstein would be proud!! Glad that step is done!!

Drilled a couple holes on instrument panel for lights.

Alignment

Since first drive two weeks ago, have had a shimmy above 60 miles/hr. Borrowed a Fastrax gauge from PJ Davis. Camber and castor were fine, but toe was .25" out instead of .125" (1/8) in. Oops. Fixed it. Quick blast up to 85 on the freeway proved that the shimmy was gone. Took the curvy back roads up to the reservoir. Drives like a dream now. Bit by bit working the bugs out.

Took an "agricultural excursion" off track and into the weeds over the weekend that wounded the oil pan Can't get a new one here before this weekend so I just executed a temporary repair that I hope is good enough to be able to run on Sunday.

Finished the Driverside of my SAI modification! Change UCA to new Mark IV 0 degree style arms and changed my front springs to 350 lbs. I already changed my rears to 200 lbs.

Just finished two days of Open track at Watkins Glen. Ran the roadster unbeluievably hard, steady as a rock, 145 on the back stretch. Loud, fast, fun.....


Again, Mark's suspension work made the car a b etter racer!

6 months & 10 car-washes and these babies rusted right up. i cleaned them off and shot them with clearcoat. you can easily see the hubs thru my Bullett wheels and they looked awful. they are by no means shiny, but at least they don't look dodgey.

yes, i flipped one of the photos and yes, i was careful to mask off where the pads go and yes, it's high-temp clearcoat.

Oooo... Nice idea Eddie! My car isn't on the road yet but I thought about maybe powder clear coating or clear painting the inside of the rotor the same way. BTW... I see you have the Wilwood adapter ring for the rotors. My Wilwood instructions said the rotors were hub centric so the rotor adapters were required. I see your rings have some space around the hub. Mine did too because I had Yukon axles with a smaller hub than the Mustang axles so I ordered the Willwood larger rings to fill in the space around the hub.

Started mounted my freshly painted body. Hood should be ready tomorrow, still needs a little buffing but looks really, really good in my opinion.

Not today but recent..Last 2 weeks.
-Swapped the rear to coilovers. Had to turn down extensions to get the overall length right. Made spacers and ordered new 250lb springs.
-Cut off the old spring perches.
-Made some wedge-ish panels to make clearance in the trunk floor for the upper shock bolts.
-Made a lid for my trunk storage box, fuel pump access, and battery access.
-Fabbed and installed a new battery box to clear the Watts Link I installed awhile back.
-Made some pedal covers and a dead pedal.
-Ordered led's for my indicators and made a small panel to mount them on the dash.
-Ran new -6 braided fuel lines since my hard line had a weep at the union to the braided line right above the p.s. j-pipe.
-Riveted the upper trunk floors in place and the rear cockpit panel.
-Installed a dimmer switch for the headlights on the 3/4" tube above my left foot so I can just give it a little kick.
When I wasn't working on my car, I welded some plates onto the seat frames of a 356 Porsche to mount headrests and then I made a billet shifter trim ring for a 1972 Maserati Ghibli that belongs to Bill Warner (Bill organizes the Amelia Island Concours)
I'm stupid proud of how it turned out. I've sent a bunch of pics to photobucket so when they upload I'll post a link.

And since then...
-Finished riveting rear cockpit panels.
-Wired new dimmer switch.
-Mounted and wired horn button.
-Figured out why electric fan wasn't running.
-Pressurized new fuel lines ( No leaks! ).
-Mounted new led panel and wired in all led's.

Got my engine back (had to pull it and send it back for warranty repairs).



Started re-assembling everything.
