Anti-Lock brakes

I've been researching the hell out of ABS systems, including many forum searches.

I find a lot about abspowerbrake.com, and their products. But NONE of their products, or any of the referencing posts, say ANYTHING about them being anti-lock.

It is my understanding that anti-lock needs a computer and wheel sensors and junk.

So are these, in fact, anti-lock, or are they simply power brake units?

Where can i find a true anti-lock system?

Thanks,

I plan on using the system out of a 94 to 04 Cobra which matches my current setup. I believe there are 2 and 4 channel systems but I havent done much other research on it. In order to keep the Fox width axle in the back, I will have to do some creative machinework on the ABS rings. I will post my progress once I get started. I am currently still collecting parts. HTH

94-95 ABS is 3-channel ie, 2 front brake lines and one shared rear brake line. The system has a stand alone ABS controller and requires 4 wheel senors and 4 tone rings.

So i spent some time searching and here's what i've found.

ABS sensors can be had from just about anywhere. I have found abs brake computers from just about every car EXCEPT mustangs.

I have found spindles with rings for the front, but NOTHING for the rear, other than sensors. Where do i get rear rings?

So, are there any downsides to using an ABS from say a taurus, (which are common) and can it be used with the sensors and rings from an sn-95 stang?

Do yall have a good source for parts, or do i have to go junkyard hopping for stuff?

Also, all the abs computers seem to have a huge connector on them, where they plug into stuff. Is this where the sensors plug in?

So it looks like the ABS unit is self contained, in that it does not need any additional hydraulic pumps or anything? I just plug all my lines and wires into the one unit and i am good to go?

Also, does the unit to inline between the MC and the brakes (meaning any MC can be used, specifically the double MC from whitby) or does it feed into the MC itself, requiring me to buy the appropriate unit?

I have located some mustang GT units, as well as rear rings.

Use any master you want, master feeds the ABS unit. The lines then run from the ABS module to the brake calipers.
