Well, I see 'Bitch' is already used. But the car has smoothin' alittle of it's bugs. Some of my family members knows my car as 'THE WIFE'. She takes all my money and sometimes all I get is grief. But she sure knows how to please me when I drive her!The car I mean guys, the car!!

Bump:

Haven't named mine yet, but I will. Need to get her running and driving first to find out what name fits.

This thread hasn't been around for 8 years, so I figure there's a new group with new names.....

So, what names have you given to your ride?

Beast

I never named it officially but I have always referred to it as

The Beast!!

Pretty much every time I drive it I still think, "What a Beast". I don't think it will ever feel like anything else.

When my wife and I were dating, I had an 88 mustang. She called the 88 mustang my "wife", as I spent so much time with it. Later on, I also got a 97 mustang, which of course she called my "lover"... you know I already had a "wife", so it had to be the lover.
Both of those cars are gone, but now the cobra is frequently referred to as my "second wife".
Maybe after paint, I'll come up with my own nickname. For now, I just refer to it as the roadster, or the red car, or the cobra.

Leaving work one day I got a lil deep in the pedal, and she started to dance.
The next day a coworker said "you better get that thing in lockdown" - it stuck.

to hijack wiki -" In its most common usage in corrections units, the term lockdown can be defined as a course of action to control the movement of inmates".

Had to get a plate that matched.

My nickname all through school was Rat. With my Mk 3 oh so unfinished, she could be nothing other than the "Rat-Rod".

FFR6243RD, MkIII, 3.55, IRS, pin-drive width, carb'd 351W, T5, 1/2 dropped butt, Fortes hydraulic clutch, deep dish AC-III wheels by Team III. 9 year build; NY registered 7/18/2016 - "Sweet 16" winner at 2016 Taconic State Nationals 5 days later ... in 'rough as hell' gel coat for the foreseeable future!

a few

Wife has referred to her as "the other woman", "my mistress" . . . and "the money pit". That last one came from when she told me "This car better not nickel and dime us to death" . . . I responded; "Honey, there's nothing on this car that costs a nickel or a dime"

License plate says; POPSDRM (pop's dream).

I just call her "the race car" or "The little blue car".

Esmerelda - after the gypsy girl in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

She is wild and beautiful. She dances in the streets with her goat (Navy Chief Petty Officers are referred to as Goats) and has a gypsy's temper if she isn't paid attention to when she's dancing in the street.

My wife will call her "Esmy" or when she wants to bust my chops "The Jalopy"

Azula...

She's still riding around in red gelcoat, for now, but she will be blue. I'm still not sure what color blue... somewhere between baby blue and midnight blue (I'm leaning toward midnight) but she WILL BE BLUE.

The name comes from the the Nickelodeon show "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Azula is a fire-breathing B!tcH that specializes in blue flame.

My plate is AC ACE. People who know the history of these cars get the reference. If they don't, (and if I'm in the mood), I explain it. Otherwise I lie and tell them I'm an electrical contractor.

Everybody in my family knows to call it "the roadster", since I don't want them to call it a C*bra. But, the roadster's nickname is Gretchen. The name randomly popped into my head when I was wondering if it should have a nickname (right after I ordered it), and for some reason it stuck. Nobody else calls it that, just me... I think my brain may have gotten it from Spaceballs.

Ashley

Mine is named "Ashley" after the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds". Fans of the movie will remember that the cars to be stolen had female code names. The Shelby Roadster was named "Ashley". There is a brief scene in the movie where the names of the car are flashed up on the garage wall.

Hence the build became the "Ashley Project" and it carried over to the name of the car.

My wife does not like the car's name because it is not her name. If I had been smart, I should have named it after her. We guys are pretty dumb!
