My 82 year old dad calls it "the turtle" because it is small and green.
My wife calls it "your girlfriend" because I spend more time and money on it than I do on her.
My son calls it my "look at me" car because, well, it just demands to be looked at!
I just call it the "c***a".

Car Names

Suburban= "The Pig" (reference to fuel consumption and overall size)
Toyota Camry (RIP)= The "Rat Car" (found a rat fried to the engine when we bought it)
01' Mustang= The "Ragtop" (because it is)
66Mustang FB= The "Blue Car" (sonic blue color)
F-5 Roadster= The "Black Car" (both because the color is black and it is a black hole into which I have thrown substantial $)

"Dad's Race Car" --OR -- "It"

Referred to in my house as "Dad's Race Car" ...because like me before 2.5 years ago, my wife and kids (6 and 8 yr old boys) know nothing about cars either!

I call the car "IT"
-IT's fast
-I can't believe I built IT
-I can't believe IT'S mine
-I can't believe IT's done
-I can't believe IT runs
-etc..

I smile, look at IT in my garage and IT just stuck!

My car was named after my late Japanese mother inlaw. Her Japanese last name was Akabane which means Red Feather. She used to say less is more and thats how we built this car plain and simple.

"Somfun" that's the license plate moniker too. Wanted "Brutus" but we gave that to the Envoys several years ago..... Then there is the 92 LX named "Whitey" (reason self explanatory) The wife's New Beetle called "Ladybug" (red with black spots.... seriously) and "old green" the S-10 parts haulin' machine..... Uh, that's five with only a two car garage.... I must be Car Crazy to be thinking of another stablemate...

Not a very cool nickname, but what can ya do...
