Bill,
I'll make a donation, while I'm not a Factory Five car owner (I own an Everett Morrison Gen IV), I feel the Shelby Enterprises are stepping all over the toes of the enthusiasts who made him and his company what they are. I dontated to SAAC when they were sued by Shelby and will to Factory Five.
Good luck with the legal battle. Checks in the mail.

Mark

Well, it look like I'll be telling folks mine is a Factory Five Roadster, built by Gordon Levy Racing.

As for this website: rename it FFBuilders.com

Donation sent (from the shrinking 'buy a kit fund' )

I'm sorry, but I can't help feeling the need to send a great BIG 'kiss my a**' message to a certain unpopular someone. Slightly juvenile, but these types of nuisance lawsuits really fry my nads.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I thought that this was put to bed years ago when FFR won the case against CS? Why is this being retried? Best wishes FFCars +FFR.

From; FFCars.com LEGAL DEFENSE FUND - PLEASE HELP

Bill ;

This is a sad moment in my life! I've owned; 1-GT-500 (Org.), 1-427-SC (Replica), 1-FIA Replica), 1-FFR-Type 65, and currently building GT350R (Tribute) Vintage Racer. Built another 4 of various pedigrees.

Never would have thought that I would be supporting a defense fund against frivalous litigation from a childhood "hero"!

What a legacy to leave, in the waining years of your life to "destory" all that's been "good" to you and "taint" legendary accomplishments!

The mustang is slated for paint, it will not be seeing any "stripes"!!

Contribution sent by Pay-Pay

He probably sued this forum because it adds to the success of FFR who he's really after. Looking at the support from everyone so far....LOOKS LIKE HE'S AWAKENED A SLEEPING COBRA!!!!!!!!

Paypal sent!

Good luck Bill!

Donation to be sent this week. Every contribution counts !
I agree with the suggestion of a customer petition.
I am eager to tell admirers the car is an FFR replica with distinct differences in design not nearly as accurate a reproduction of other replicas and certainly not an original. For reasons of neglect during the build I have no cobra logo on my hood . Never missed it.
Hopefully FFR will again defeat this lawsuit as it seems to be based on similar grounds.
Many of the companies out there today could not sustain the financial cost of this action. The entire replica industry should be watching and SUPPORTING FFR because if Shelby succeeds they are next.

Bill - We are here for you - 100%. When news of this lawsuit first broke, I suggested we set up some kind of legal defense fund for ffcars & FFR. Yes, times are tough, but I had some money lying around in paypal - it is on the way.

A call to all the patriots here - Time to step up and be heard !!

If it goes to a jury trial, I have one thing to say PICK ME !!! PICK ME !!!

As Greg and others have mentioned, lets show the strength of our numbers. If 1/2 of all members give $10 each, that is 90K. 6,600 people have viewed this thread(I know some are repeats), but $10 from each would be 66K - that would go a long way to helping Bill out. Of course, those who can, the more $$ the better - give whatever you can.

We should also flood FFR with calls offering support.

Think of all the hours you have spent on here. All that you have learned. How much you have saved because someone helped you BEFORE you made a costly mistake. Ok, try not to think about all the mods/upgrades you did because of this site Whatever you give, it is probably the cheapest entertainment/fun money you have spent.

This type of thing upsets me.

I am not an owner, just a dreamer for a kit someday, however, that being said the owners of Cobra kits should join together and file a friend of the court briefing. I'm not sure of the legal terminology but maybe an amicus brief?. However, documentation should be gathered showing the following:

1 -- Details of insignia's that were purchased through dealers include receipts if available.

2 -- Endorsements of the product by C.S. - namely his autograph on dashboards and the story behind it. Like, "I met C.S. at this swap meet and told him of my building a replica car from scratch and he was so impressed he put his Autograph of approval on my dashboard, T-shirt, etc.".

3 -- Anything else your lawyer comes up with.

4 -- Since this is against three defendants I would hope you would all gather the wagons and approach it as a group.

5 -- Make sure your attorney subpoena’s that places you advertise to see if Carol Shelby or his foundation has subscriptions. That might provide tact approval of you and Factory Five also.

Donation sent.

Sorry thing is that C.S. will probably be DEAD in his grave before he/we see the end of this BS. Thinking that might slim out the crowd at his parade...
