First I have to say: Crap you're a tall one! LOL, but you seem to fit nicely (seeing your leg position with the footbox side off)...
Congrats on the first go-cart, you'll have that smile on your face for days. When you looked both ways before crossing back into your driveway I thought for sure you were going to light 'em up!

Dave,
It's a great feeling isn't it? I think the first go-cart was actually more exciting than finally graduating. But hey.....don't be afraid to get on it and scare the neighbors.

Rod, that little guys came running out of his house followed by his whole family. He has been watching the build since it started and as soon as he heard it start heart he knew exactly what it was! He came over and repeated over and over, "Mr Hodgkins built a race car! Mr Hodgkins build a race car!!" It was so precious. His whole family was quite excited and everyone had very broad smiles...
Mark I'm close to 6'6" and I was driving without a seat. The Kirkeys and seat belts will get bolted in today and then I'll try getting on the throttle a little bit!

I took it down the street and back on Sunday and noted these things:
It's WAY to friggin' loud!
It needs an alignment BAD.
The brakes need to be bled.
I have a small fuel leak from the bung that was welded to the fuel pickup.
The clutch has an "issue". The first 1-2" of travel tightens everything up in the bellhousing, and THEN the TOB engages the clutch.
My wife was NOT PLEASED with me driving the go-cart on the street!
I couldn't get to 10* base timing with the distributor. It is hitting the alternator. I wonder which way it has to rotate to pick up 1 tooth? Clockwise, or CCW?
So fun, fun, but I still got a lot of work to do before I can mount the body!
