trunk option discussion

there are a few options out there so I was curious to see what people planned on using:

I'm using whatever is already bolted onto my 2001 model donor! It looked to be in decent shape and straight; I will just sand and repaint. I have no idea which of those options it is, though.

I'm inclined to even leave the VW badging on it. That should be confusing to some and conversational to others.

I just looked at Facebook, which I loathe. Seems a lot has happened in the last few days that I wasn't checking in. (Mark, we miss the updates to the thread over here.) Reading between the lines, it seems Mark is crating up the first beta, and it also sounds like the body has been popped from the mold. I'm very excited about how that turned out. On the downside, we're still seeing polls about the hardtop design, so I take it that not much has been done there? I get nervous when I see a "soft top only" option -- but I trust that's not the direction this will go.

late north american trunks have the lip on the back can came stock on all jetta's for the 2004 model on. you have an early north american with a 2001, John.
