Seat discomfort !

Anybody ever dismantle their seats to reupholster, mine are so uncomfortable in the back that they're giving me back ache if I don't put a piece of foam in my back before going for a drive. It's like they were formed too tight, the back is way too curved up. I'm a small guy and i feel squished way too much. It creates a big lack of support in my lower back.
Anybody know if I can straighten them up so they're flatter in the back, thanks

Michel

I've got a Mk1 with the old style fiberglass seats, which are really comfortable IMO. I think FFR changed to metal framed seat which could be your problem?

Have you tried a local auto upholstery shop?

Which seats do you have? I had both, the fiberglass and then the metal framed ones. For me the metal framed ones were way more comfortable but I'm on the tall side (6'2") so it might make a difference in how the seats fit my back. I have lower back problems and have not been bothered by a full day of driving.

I would think an upolstery shop could put a dense foam piece in to help support your lower back.

On my new build I am going to try the low back Kirkey's for a little more side support.
