Engine bay insulation removal

Hi guys, like some of you, I bought my roadster partially built. Although the original builder did a great job with most things, he covered the firewall with aluminum insulation which I really don't like. Have any of you had experience with this stuff? I'm afraid its glued on and once I start taking it off I'll have an uglier mess than I've got now. Any hints on removing before I start tearing it off??!!

I know, should have built it my way, my self..

Thanks

Holy Crap! He really went to town, I bet it's nice and cool though. I dont envy you, that looks like a big job. I would pull a small piece in an inconspicuous area and see what the deal is under all that.

I agree with Mike on both counts. I wish I had insulated my engine bay better now. Even though the bare aluminum looks cleaner, in the middle of the summer (and even warm spring and fall days) cooler is better.
